From the vision to “our AI Phone”: the next chapter

Deutsche Telekom's AI Phone, showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, integrates advanced artificial intelligence into everyday use. The AI Phone features the Perplexity Assistant, which users can access directly from the lock screen or by double-tapping the power button. This digital assistant performs various tasks, such as creating calendar entries, writing emails, making summaries, translating content, and facilitating tasks like ordering a taxi, initiating calls, and making purchases without needing to switch between apps.

Alongside the Perplexity Assistant, the AI Phone incorporates additional AI services from partners like Google Cloud AI, ElevenLabs, and Picsart. Google Cloud AI offers real-time translation of conversations and text using the device's camera and supports natural, human-like voice interactions with its Gemini Multimodal Live API. ElevenLabs transforms text, URLs, or documents into engaging multi-speaker podcasts, streamlining content creation. Picsart allows users to create personalized images, transforming selfies into various artistic styles such as Superhero, Anime, and Fantasy.
Additionally, users who do not purchase the AI Phone can access these AI features through the “Magenta AI” offerings in the MeinMagenta app. This initiative aims to democratize access to generative AI technologies for all Deutsche Telekom customers, enhancing convenience and functionality in their daily lives.
